His account wasn't compromised. He just posted to a bunch of old threads, and Ed gave him a time out.

Hello,
I did it to be funny. Sorry if he took it the wrong way.
I did the same sort of thing to AndrewA a while back. If I remember correctly, he was in some sort of post count battle with someone, and I temporarily reduced his post count. He was upset also, but he got over it.
If the joke was missed, I'm sorry. I had the code in place to trap Big Junk's posts for something like 20 minutes.
If I was really having a problem with him, or anyone else for that matter, I would most certainly PM them first. If the problem was real and not corrected I would take further action.
In fact when other members go on a posting spree for no good reason, I usually delete all the posts. Because RLD members are sort of fond of their post count (See
here
), I left all his posts intact. He didn't post any objectionable material or anything.
Beamish, you are correct. My first concern was that I would have to track down who hijacked BJ's account. I don't think anyone noticed that when I saw the posts, all IP addresses that BJ uses (or has used) were blocked while I looked into it. If I remember correctly, for this time period (about 2 minutes) some of the IP addresses Beamish uses were affected also.
I made my RLD post about the spree in the middle of looking into it. I saw who it was, and that it was not a problem. I unblocked the IP addresses. I should have posted in the RLD indicating I was cool with everything.
I didn't.
I did try and do something I thought RLD members would think was funny. The responses I saw indicated that people thought it was so I thought nothing of it.
If Big Junk is happy over at XMFAN it's fine with me. If he would like to come back, he is welcome. If not, sorry I upset you and enjoy whatever you do.
At this point all I can really do is give a few bonus post count points to those affected.
Hope this helps,
ED
Oh I see.
Some people take these things too seriously I guess.
A very sincere apology from Ed for a very minor thing - personally, I thought the time-out was funny as was the silliness of resurrecting old posts. I recall, there was a time or two when members of the RLD, myself included, did the same thing (albeit, one or two threads, versus 20+)
Anyway, while Ed's handing out bonus post count points, I'd like to temporarily have more than Stocker.
A true postwhore would have opted for permanently instead of only temporarily.
Bad attorney
I figured asking for a permanent change to the post count was inappropriate.
But, if Ed's felling generous...
I agree. I'm a little low in the totals myself. _________________

Man arrested in Texas for trying to cash $360 billion check
(05-01) 18:04 PDT Fort Worth, Texas (AP) --
Charles Ray Fuller must have been planning one big record company. The 21-year-old North Texas man was arrested last week for trying to cash a $360 billion check, saying he wanted to start a record business. Tellers at the Fort Worth bank were immediately suspicious — perhaps the 10 zeros on a personal check tipped them off.
Fuller, of suburban Crowley, was arrested on a forgery charge. He was released after posting $3,750 bail.
Fuller said his girlfriend's mother gave him the check to start a record business. But bank employees who contacted the account's owner said the woman told them she did not give him permission to take or cash the check.
In addition to the forgery count, Fuller was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and possessing marijuana. Officers reported finding less than two ounces of marijuana and a .25-caliber handgun and magazine in his pockets. _________________

The girlfriend's mother has $360 Billion in her checking account?
WOW! I hope that's an interest bearing checking account. _________________
