Yes, all you need is a standard 3 pin stereo plug to 3 pin stereo plug cord (Radio Shack, etc...) plug one end into the "LINE OUT" -or- Headphone Jack of your XM unit; the other end plugs into your AUX input.

Switch your radio to AUX.
Run the XM and go to "MENU" and adjust the OUTPUT LEVEL so the volume matches the radio on regular radio stations and isn't too loud/distorting or too soft.

Good luck, and WELCOME!

Primary Radio: Pioneer Inno

I have a Pioneer Inno and just had a new radio installed which has an Aux input in the rear. Is there a way I can connect my car dock to this? What would I need exactly?

What type of AUX connection jack do you have?

It appears all you need to do is remove the 2 black rubber caps off the ends of the red and white RCA jacks that are on a short cable (LINE IN) coming out of the back of the radio (NOT the jacks built-into the radio). Then get a STEREO 3.5mm Male Plug to two RCA Male Plug splitter adapter (Radio Shack, everywhere sells them).
It would look like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027NKRN8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=304485901&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000N6Y7R8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1G3FN4NX7F8PGRVCEBX1

Plug the stereo 'headphone' jack into the INNO base and the red plug and white plug into the "LINE IN" plugs hanging by the black wires out of the back of the car stereo. You can double check with Crutchfield, as they are pretty helpful, but I believe what I'm telling you should work, Let us know.

Alright - been reading around a bit and trying to decide which route to take.

Options: XpressRC or Pioneer GEX-P920XM XM Satellite Tuner

I currently have the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD headunit installed in my car. I was debating on just getting the Pioneer GEX-P920XM XM Satellite Tuner so that I wouldn't have a messy setup, although at the same time I would like the flexibility of being able to play the XM radio in my home or in another car, so it's looking like I should go with the XpressRC. Also, going with just the Pioneer GEX-P920XM, the navigation isn't as pretty and I can't seem to find confirmation that I would receive the stock/sports ticker.

Anyway, I would like a direct connection of some sorts with the XpressRC - would I only have to purchase the XpressRC + PIE Pioneer IP-Bus to 3.5-MM Plug Adapter PIO/P-3.5M from MyRadioStore? The AVH-P3100DVD does have IP-Bus system control.

Also, according to the first post, this would provide me with the best connection/sound, correct? Sorry if my questions are noobish - but this is my first step in the XM direction and everything is pretty new to me even after reading a bit.

check with MyRadioStore for the interface parts, but the AUX connection usually provides the best sound, although some have had decent luck with strong FM modulators or cassettes with DNR etc...
;Stand-alone' XM tuners have more toys as a rule, and you can use it in the car, then take it into the office, back to the car then home, so one sub can go a long ways.

Rich w/Hatred, are you using this FM modulator? If so, is it as strong as the old SkyFi2, MyFi generation?

Inno to Aux

I have an Inno but never bought any pieces to go in the car. We have a mini-van with an AUX in slot. Can you tell me what pieces I need to buy to run the Inno through the car's AUX slot? Is it just the car charger and antenna? Are they sold together?

Thanks Stocker. So with the Aux input, I don't have to worry about installation under the dash?

You don't have to go under the dash, except to hide any wires. Wink
