My Skyfi Mazda3 Mod

This mod came out pretty well. I wanted to mount my Skyfi in my Mazda3 so i removed the ashtray area and made a custom panel to hold the center section from a XM Boombox. now i can just pop out the radio and take it with me or lock it up so its not stolen.

I bought a damaged boom box off eBay and disassembled it and just used the center part.

a Keen eye will also note that is a skyfi2 but...the display is orange! I grafted the display out of a Skyfi1 into my skyfi2 so i could retain the orange display to match the cars interior. On the roof i removed the stock antenna and mounted the XM antenna right next to the stock antenna hole. and then put a sharkfin antenna over both so its completely hidden and waterproof too!

Wow! Amazing mod! How did you do it exactly? Some step by step instructions would be appreciated. Would LOVE to do something similar.

do you have the "pin-outs" for the connector on the bottom of the XM SKYFi2 connectors in the boombox and in the mobile/home bases?
Thanks!
