XM online works under Linux
I already had my Linux computer set up for listening to SIRIUS online, and it also works without modification for XMRO.

Warning: this isn't the most stable setup. If I change channels a lot and click on lots of buttons in rapid succession, I find that Firefox sometimes crashes. However, I tend to leave it on one channel, only switching occasionally, and I rarely have crashes that way. The stability has improved with each release of the plugin. |

I just configured my laptop to have XMRO work in the Knoppix environment using Firefox and MPlayer plugin. The graphics aren't perfect but the presets do work and as a bonus I get far fewer buffereing problems than listening using WMP and XP.

I've got it running just fine on Ubuntu on my laptop. Pretty sweet! But I have a partition saved for WinXP, and it's a LOT less "klunky" in Windows.

I am REALLY tired of running the browser to listen to XMRO. It chews up memory and is "very clunky."
