What's Playing Now - Executable!

The elves here at XM411.com have done it again and created an independent executable file that will "dock" on either side of your desktop and keep the XM411.com What's Playing Now feature right in view at all times!

There is also a song alert feature built in that you can manage yourself.

Give it a try - let us know what you think! And ofcourse... TELL A FRIEND!!!

DOWNLOAD: HERE .

Thanks for this...

But...

First off, I don't like the ad.

My screen real-estate is too valuable to be displaying an ad for a site that I know very well. Personally, I think that anyone who is likely to be running the program also knows about your store and would already plan to go there to buy any XM-related products...so I don't see the point.

Secondly. I prefer the appearence of the page object. In particular, I prefer the smaller, bold font and the distinctive look of the "new" songs.

Thirdly (and this is minor), I don't like the "S" for settings. Not only does it go onto of your logo, but it doesn't need to be there all the time. You ought to have that be in a context-menu (right-click popup). The same for the "A"s...They're just distracting now...

The ad is small and takes up about 1 channel preset in real estate. It is a very small price to pay for something that is free and helps support the site.

If there are plans for a Mac version (or other OS-es), that'd be great. But, I'm probably asking too much, so I'll just shut up Wink

Aw, geez.

So now, while I'm in the den, listening to iTunes, managing my next iPod sync, and perusing the iPod/iTunes forums, I can still keep up with my favorite XM channels.

My brain is going to explode from the overload.

I love it!

Wow!

This is neet. I set the ReplacePCR software transpacny option to 50 percent and docked the whats playing now to the right hand side of my display.

Now this looks pretty. Something to show off in the malls.

I concur on the ad being just fine. Otherwise the app could get passed around to people that don't support XM411 and they will just be sucking up the bandwidth with no return to XM411. I think it's a small price to pay for a free service from a free utility. However, maybe you could squeeze in another preset if you dropped it down to a text ad to "buy stuff at myradiostore.com"... Twisted Evil

  1. I wish the channel presets were smaller! That would the ad would be more like 2 presets high...
  2. My point is that it does not support the site. Ads only generate revenue if they cause someone to buy something that he/she would not otherwise buy. I think that the people who are going to run the program are already frequent visitors to XM411 and so they know all about the store already...

Only 6 presets Wireman??? I was just sitting here wishing the app was thinner and that I could dock one on the left and the right and have different channels in each one! Laughing It's hard to figure out what to put in there to monitor for.

Also keep in mind that the ad space doubles as the song alert space. The alerts that you set will be displayed OVER the ad. It is a multipurpose area.

It's great for a Version 1.0, but I have to say that I like the format on the web site a lot better as it allows for displaying all channels. The song alerts are nice, but I think the display could use a few tweaks.

I pretty much don't use presets since most of the time I run RPCR in Jukebox mode. (Scans for my favorites and switches to that channel and back to the master once the song is over) Don't even have to lift a finger.

But the presets you see are my most favorite channels on XM.
