XM repeater locations
I was under the impression the location of XM's repeater locations were a secret.

That data for XM's mid and high power repeaters has aways been available from the FCC under the filing SAT-STA-20010712-0063. It goes back July 12, 2001 and appears to quite a bit out of date. Many of the listed repeaters were never installed or were quickly taken out of service. I've imported that data into a KML file for Google Earth if anyone is interested.

quote: Thanks, but that's what I already had. I thought you might have a map of the area that shows the repeater locations(like a google earth of each location). |

Mapquest actually has a lat/long mapper that you can plug these numbers into and get a general sense of where the repeaters are/would be.

Just remember that those are only the higher powered repeater locations that had to be registered with the FCC. There are likely a lot more lower powered (2-3K watts or less) that don't have to be registered... for example, the one that serves me best at home and work (yes, I work that close to home!) isn't registered. |
