XM repeater locations

I was under the impression the location of XM's repeater locations were a secret.
I came across a website that list(by lat/long)the location of repeaters in every major U.S. city.

I won't post the address(unless someone can confirm it's "OK" to do so),but is this information meant to be available to the general public? Maybe this is a dead topic?

Ziggy already had this posted in the Gallery section. Its a map of repeater locations in the New York Metro area.

Do you have some other location maps? Something nationwide would be very cool since I love road trips Smile

That data for XM's mid and high power repeaters has aways been available from the FCC under the filing SAT-STA-20010712-0063. It goes back July 12, 2001 and appears to quite a bit out of date. Many of the listed repeaters were never installed or were quickly taken out of service. I've imported that data into a KML file for Google Earth if anyone is interested.

I have a url with longitude/latitude for several US cities. But Desert Rat is probably correct by saying several of those locations were never installed or are no longer in service.

Thanks, but that's what I already had. I thought you might have a map of the area that shows the repeater locations(like a google earth of each location).

Mapquest actually has a lat/long mapper that you can plug these numbers into and get a general sense of where the repeaters are/would be.

Just remember that those are only the higher powered repeater locations that had to be registered with the FCC. There are likely a lot more lower powered (2-3K watts or less) that don't have to be registered... for example, the one that serves me best at home and work (yes, I work that close to home!) isn't registered.
