Welcome to XM411.

Are connecting to your CD player with the headphone jack or the Line Out jack from the cradle?

Try adjusting your Line Level Out when it's connected to your Bose CD player.

Line Out Level

If you connect inno to another stereo system, you can adjust inno’s audio level to match other audio sources. This is not a volume control; use the volume control on your stereo instead.
1. Select XM ➝ Settings ➝ Setup ➝ Line Out Level.
2. Use the left or right arrow buttons to decrease or increase the audio level.
3. Press the XM button to confirm your selection. Then press the left arrow button repeatedly until you return to normal operation.

I have recently hooked it up to my radio on the auxiliary port, it's one of those bose cd players and I had to adjust the sound up a fair amount on the bose player. Now when I try to listen to it with my headphones on, it is so loud I can't stand it. I took the battery out in hopes that would reset it back to the way it was. Of course, I tried to adjust loudness with the side sound buttons, but they don't work. Can somebody please help a newbie out?
I have done a search, but I am just coming up with sound quality issues.
radio stations have DJs.

Show me where it says radio stations have DJs. Most of the music channels on XM are jockless, and there are even FM music stations that are jockless. You're making stuff up.

Actually, many of XM's music channels have DJ's - I'd say at least more than half of them do. Here are channels that I know have them:

The 50's
The 60's
The 70's
The 80's
America
X Country
Willie's Place
Bluegrass Junction
Highway 16
The Blend
Flight 26
On Broadway
U-Pop
XM Hitlist
Spirit
Deep Tracks
Boneyard
Liquid Metal
XMU
XM Cafe
Ethel
SquiZZ
The Loft
The Verge
Fungus
Soul Street
Suite 62
The Groove
RAW
The City
Real Jazz
Watercolors
Beyond Jazz
Frank's Place
Bluesville
Hear Music
Fine Tuning
The Move

Fuego

Air Musique
Sur La Route
XM Classics

I'm not sure, but The Heart, The Heat and The Joint may also have somebody on the air as well. That's most of XM's music channels!
_________________
You can check out http://xmbootcamp3.blogspot.com to read my XM blog!
I've blocked the CC music channels from my radio (including WSIX)!

Great!
I just got an email from Vaja tonight saying "Vaja is proud to announce its latest and exclusive collection for iPod nano 2nd Gen:" They are pretty much killers. I will probably order 2.

At first I did not like the idea of no screen protector but I have been using mine several weeks now out of the case and have gotten no scratches. The material seems not to scratch easily. I have the Pioneer and it may or may not be made of the same as yours.

Thanks for the pics. Did yours take about a month to get?
I'm able to pick up signal in my bedroom

, through a wall, with the antenna not being anywhere near a window, pointed south. No problems whatsoever. Nice thing about XM is when you've got signal, you've got signal.

Damn the man! I remember the good ol' days when you did it online and they didn't charge you.

XM has almost always charged an activation fee, even when done online. The exception is around Christmas where they haved dropped the fee for online activations.
